Detect and measure levels of alpha, beta, gamma and x radiation with this high quality radiation detector.

Radiation safety is a top priority especially for hospitals, nuclear power facilities, nuclear, x-ray manufacturers and emergency response teams; therefore it is important to be able to measure radiation levels both safely and accurately.

Made in the USA, the Digilert 100 measures and detects radiation using a Geiger-Mueller tube, which can detect a single particle of ionizing radiation. This radiation detector works by generating a pulse of electrical current each time radiation passes through the tube and causes ionization. Each pulse is electronically detected and registered as a count.

Whenever the Digilert 100 is operating, the red count light (1) flashes each time a count (an ionizing event) is detected. An audible alert sounds when the radiation reaches a user-adjustable level. This meter also offers an accumulated total and timer function, up to 9,999,000 counts and 40 hours.

For radiation measurement, The Digilert 100 allows you to select how you want the count to be displayed, either in; counts per minute (CPM) milliroentgens per hour (mR/hr), or total counts for a timed period. When SI units is selected, you can view readings in counts per second (CPS) or microsieverts per hour ( µSv/hr). Timed total counts are the most direct method of measurement and is the most appropriate to measure alpha and beta activity using CPM rather than mR/hr.
